Calusa Country Club at Lakewood Ranch

Calusa Country Club is at the center of a community in the northeast corner of Lakewood Ranch, the massive planned community located just a few miles inland from Sarasota and Bradenton. The first course (an additional 12 hole course is planned) has the usual look of a course built upon former farmland in this part of Florida, winding its way through the community's stormwater containment ponds. There's a lot of flexibility built into the design with six tee boxes that play from an ultra-friendly 3,798 yards to a strenuous test of 7,404 yards from the back tees.

Membership comes bundled with the purchase of a home here, but they also offer annual memberships and make tee times available for public play (as of late 2025).  Calusa Country Club at Lakewood Ranch is 13.9 miles from downtown Sarasota.
