Both the PGA Tour and the LPGA Tour moved into the northeastern US this week with tournaments in the Philadelphia and New York City areas.
With the PGA Championship scheduled for Quail Hollow this week, the PGA Tour moved its annual Charlotte tournament to Philadelphia this year. The classic Wissahickon course at Philadelphia Cricket Club, designed by A.W. Tillinghast, hosted the Truist Championship. The big-money “Signature Event” was won by Sepp Straka.
For the third consecutive year the LPGA Tour visited Liberty National in New Jersey for the Mizuho Americas Open. Jeeno Thitikul shot the best rounds on Thursday and Saturday (64 and 65, respectively) to cruise to a four-shot win over runner-up Celine Boutier.
